Accessibility
This site targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Every colour pair is verified against the contrast requirement by an automated check that fails our build, every interactive element is at least 48 by 48 pixels, and every page works with a keyboard alone and with JavaScript unavailable. If something here does not work for you, call us and we will fix it and help you in the meantime.
What we have done
- Colour contrast is verified, not assumed. An automated gate checks every foreground and background pair in both light and dark themes and fails the build below 4.5:1 for text.
- Touch targets are a minimum of 48 by 48 pixels, above the 44-pixel guideline, because patients use this site in pain and one-handed.
- Every page ships complete HTML. Nothing requires JavaScript to read, including the expandable questions, whose answers are present whether or not they are visually open.
- Focus is always visible. The focus ring is never removed, in either theme.
- Motion respects your system setting. With reduced motion enabled, animations and smooth scrolling are disabled.
- Text scales with your system text size without content being cut off or overlapping.
- Colour is never the only way information is conveyed — urgent items carry an icon and a word, not just red.
- One audited component library is shared across every page, so a fix applies everywhere at once.
Known limitations, stated honestly
The formal third-party audit is scheduled and this statement will be updated with its date and findings when it is complete. Until then this page states a target rather than a claim of conformance.
The Spanish mirror is being translated by people rather than machine-translated, and pages are published as each translation is reviewed. Some pages are English only at the moment.
We do not use an accessibility overlay or widget. They do not work, and installing one would tell you that the underlying markup had not been fixed.
