Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery · Miami

Wisdom teeth, handled properly.

Most impacted third molars are removed in about 45 minutes, and most patients are back at work in two to three days. Options for keeping you comfortable are discussed at your consultation, and so is the price — one number for your own case, quoted in writing before anything is booked.

Requesting a time takes about ninety seconds and no account. We confirm every appointment before it is final.

We cannot show live times on the page yet. Request a time and we will confirm it, usually the same working day — or call and we will book you in while you are on the phone.

The practice

One procedure, done all day.

Third molars are the only thing booked into these three chairs, which is why the consultation can tell you what happens, what it costs, and when — in one visit.

How this practice works

What it costs

One price for your own case, quoted in writing before anything is booked. No claim to wait on, and no second bill weeks later.

  • One price, quoted before you book

You are told the cost of your own case at the consultation, in writing, with what it does and does not include. Nothing is added afterwards without you agreeing to it first.

  • Quoted after the surgeon has looked

What needs doing is decided from your scan and your examination, not from a description over the phone — so the number is for your case rather than an average.

  • Insurance is not part of it

This practice is out of network with every dental plan and does not bill insurers. You pay us directly. Whatever you claim back afterwards is between you and your plan.

Questions people ask us

Answered by the surgeon, and reviewed with a date.

How long does wisdom tooth recovery actually take?
Swelling peaks around day two or three and settles by the end of the first week. Most people return to desk work on day three and to exercise after a week. Full socket healing takes several weeks, though you will not usually notice it after the first.
Will my medical insurance cover this instead of my dental plan?
Sometimes — most often where an impacted tooth has documented pathology. Many medical plans exclude routine extraction, so we check both your dental and your medical plan before you book rather than guessing.
What is dry socket, and how would I know?
It is the loss of the blood clot from the extraction site, usually three to five days after surgery. The signature is pain that was improving and then gets sharply worse, often with a bad taste. Call us — it is straightforward to treat and you should not wait it out.
Do all four have to come out?
No. The decision depends on impaction, the position of the nerve, decay, gum inflammation and whether the tooth is doing any work. Some are reasonable to leave and monitor, and we will tell you when that is the case.
What are the options for staying comfortable?
Most patients describe it as losing track of time rather than being unconscious. You will breathe on your own and respond to instructions, and you will remember very little. You will need someone to drive you home.

At the chair

Three trained people for every sedation case, and a fourth at the door.

Florida requires the three: the surgeon, a person whose only job is monitoring, and an assistant. The fourth covers the door, the phones and recovery, so nobody is left waiting on an empty front desk while a case is running.
